Get Out

We believe it’ s important to not only feel comfortable within the walls of our church but out and about as we interact with our greater downtown and Tacoma community. You will often see the people of Urban Grace at the local art gallery, poetry reading, pub or coffee shop hanging out and enjoying what it means to be a part of this place. Join us for some of these organized events!

Theological Roundtable, Wednesdays, 6pm, Northwest Leadership Foundation (717 Tacoma Avenue)

The NLF Theological Roundtable believes that the task of the Christian in the 21st Century is to heed Karl Barth’s advice of “holding the bible in one hand, the newspaper in the other, and doing so with equal integrity.”  The Roundtable gathers people to think theologically about how they live and act in the City. Go to the Urban Grace calendar to find out about their current series. Contact Sara Erickson for more information.

Sunday Morning Community Breakfast, Sundays, 8:30am, Basement

Though this breakfast takes place in our building, it is a unique way to meet those in need in the community. Every Sunday over 150 people are served a free breakfast and are always looking for a listening ear and friendly face. Come join us!

The Watering Hole

Pastor Tad is sometimes more comfortable outside of the walls of the church then inside of them. One of the perspectives of Urban Grace is that the city is our parish. With the Watering Hole we attempt to embody that statement by hosting theological conversations at local Tacoma “watering holes” on a regular basis. If you are 21 and older then come and join us for these periodic conversations which always explore the cross section of faith and culture. Next Series: “A James Alison Primer” on Thursday, October 22, 7pm at Doyle’s Public House (St. Helen’s Ave).
