Our race and identity discussion group is hosting a viewing of Loving. Directed by Jeff Nichols (Mud, Take Shelter), Loving is an American historical drama which tells the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the plaintiffs in the 1967 U.S. Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia, which invalidated state laws prohibiting interracial marriage. We’ll sit in the sanctuary and watch Loving on the big screen. Bring popcorn and snacks. Discussion to follow. Our race and identity discussion group will start our regular weekly meetings the Thursday after, February 23.
